God, Do You See Me Struggling?

In the middle of job hunting, I found myself binge-watching The Chosen. Four seasons in two weeks—it became my unexpected companion in this season of waiting.
Yes, there’s been debate about some of the creative liberties of the show, but one thing doesn’t change for me: God’s compassion never fails. Watching the back stories of Jesus’ followers’ struggles—doubting, crying, feeling lost—I saw myself in their stories. And yet, in the middle of it all, Jesus was there.

I’m in that middle place too—waiting for employers’ responses, checking emails with uncertainty, and carrying the weight of family health struggles. But I’ve learned that faith isn’t about having it all together. It’s not about ignoring pain or forcing positivity. Faith means trusting that even in the struggle, we’re not alone—His presence makes the burden lighter.

Even Jeremiah, the “weeping prophet,” poured out his sorrow in Lamentations 3:19-26—but in the middle of his grief, he clung to hope:
I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall.
I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me.
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope:
Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed,
for His compassions never fail.
They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
I say to myself, 'The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him.'
The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him;
it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
Jeremiah didn’t deny his pain, but he reminded himself of God’s faithfulness.
This is a powerful reminder that none of us are exempt from hardship—whether it's career setbacks, academic failures, strained relationships, or even the loss of a loved one. But one thing remains true: we are never alone. There is always Someone to lean on, whose mercies are new every morning and whose love never runs dry.
So if you're in a season of waiting, struggling, or facing the unknown, take heart.
Today, we declare: “God, I know I am not alone. In the middle of it all, You are not just watching—You are with me.”
